Our commitment
BookHotelRates is a trading brand of The Tim Potter Travel Co. Ltd, a limited company registered in England & Wales, registered no 13260550, VAT No GB 415957277. Registered Address: 41 Sandy Park Road, Bristol BS4 3PH.
BookHotelRates is committed to conducting business honestly and fairly. We do not accept bribery or corruption in our dealings in the UK or overseas. This policy sets the standard expected of our directors, employees and anyone acting on our behalf, including agents and other business partners.
We are subject to the UK Bribery Act 2010. The Act addresses giving and receiving bribes, bribery of foreign public officials and a commercial organisation’s failure to prevent bribery by associated persons. Read the government’s Bribery Act guidance for further information.
Conduct we prohibit
No one acting for us may offer, promise, give, request or accept a financial or other advantage intended to induce or reward improper performance. This includes kickbacks, concealed payments, improper inducements to officials and facilitation payments made to secure routine official action. A payment through a third party does not make an improper arrangement acceptable.
Commercial commissions and affiliate arrangements must have a lawful business purpose and be transparent and properly recorded. They must never be used to conceal an improper benefit or influence a decision unlawfully.
Gifts, hospitality and conflicts of interest
Genuine hospitality or a modest gift must be reasonable, proportionate and transparent, have a legitimate business purpose and comply with applicable law. It must not create an expectation of favourable treatment or be offered during a decision in a way that could improperly influence it. Cash or benefits intended as bribes are prohibited regardless of value.
People acting on our behalf must raise potential conflicts of interest, seek management guidance where an arrangement is uncertain and keep accurate records. We expect suppliers and representatives to meet these standards in work undertaken for us.
Reporting a concern
If you are asked for an improper payment, suspect bribery connected with our business, or need guidance on this policy, contact support@bookhotelrates.com or write to The Tim Potter Travel Co. Ltd, 41 Sandy Park Road, Bristol BS4 3PH, marking the message “Anti-bribery concern”. Include the facts and relevant dates where possible. Do not send full payment card details or unnecessarily disclose another person’s sensitive information.
Reports should be raised honestly and in good faith. We will consider concerns appropriately and handle information sensitively, sharing it where needed to assess the matter or meet legal duties. We do not promise absolute confidentiality where disclosure is legally required. Retaliation against someone for raising a good-faith concern is contrary to this policy.
Responsibility and review
Management is responsible for promoting this policy, considering bribery risks in business relationships and reviewing the measures needed to address them. Everyone acting for us is responsible for following the policy, refusing improper arrangements and raising concerns. A breach may lead to action appropriate to the relationship and circumstances, including referral to the relevant authorities where required.
